Some photos from our street run in Downtown Tampa on August 23, 2019. Runs are held the second and fourth Fridays of each month and include visits to the Salvation Army on North Florida Avenue, Curtis Hixon Park and Gaslight Park.

Between August 2018 and August 2019, TBSM provided 1300 patient encounters for approximately 750 at-risk and homeless individuals in the Tampa Bay Area. See below for a comprehensive breakdown of our work this year.

 

STREET RUNS

26 runs in Tampa Heights serving 325 individual patients in 650 patient encounters

Services provided: wound care • over-the-counter medications • hygiene supplies • blood pressure monitoring • Narcan distribution • socks and donated clothing

Volunteers: 8 USF MD Faculty Volunteers • 1 USF PA Faculty Volunteer • 6 Non-USF Provider Volunteers • 101 USF MD Student Volunteers • 28 USF PA Student Volunteers • 5 USF Pharmacy Student Volunteers • 37 PLEXUS Undergraduates

 

CONTINUITY CLINIC

24 clinics at First Presbyterian Church, caring for 154 individual patients in 363 encounters

Services provided: acute care • preventative care • prescription medications • women’s health services • laboratory testing • vaccines • podiatry care • Narcan distribution • hygiene supplies

Volunteers: 7 USF MD Faculty Volunteers • 4 Non-USF Provider Volunteers • 126 USF MD Student Volunteers • 4 USF PA Student Volunteers • 3 USF Pharmacy Student Volunteers • 38 PLEXUS Undergraduate Volunteers

 

MOBILE CLINIC

Health Equity and Linkage Project (H.E.L.P.)

124 clinics in various locations provided care for 270 individuals over 306 unique encounters
